Talking about money and your family’s future can feel intimidating at first. When we move to the United States, we face a completely new system, full of English terms and rules that work very differently from what we were used to.
Because of this, it is normal to put the subject off or feel hesitant about talking to a professional. After all, what happens in this conversation? Will I be pressured to buy something? Do I need a lot of money to take part?
The free review is not an aggressive sales call or a place for judgment. It is a conversation designed to give you clarity. In this article, I show you, with no secrets, exactly what happens during the 20 minutes we spend together, so you can take this first step with peace of mind.
Why Is the First Conversation Free?
The answer is simple: protecting your family requires, above all, trust.
We are talking about the plans of a lifetime and the security of the people you love most. That is why this first conversation is a chance for us to get to know each other, understand where you are today, and see whether it makes sense to work together.
You get to know how I work with no obligation, no contract, and no cost. If it makes sense for you by the end of the 20 minutes, we move on to the next steps. If not, you leave with a much better understanding of how family protection works in the U.S.
The Step-by-Step of Our Conversation
The conversation has three simple steps, designed to respect your time:
Step 1: Listening to You
The first part of the conversation is yours. I want to understand where your family is today, what you have already built, and what matters most to you: protecting the people who depend on your income, taking care of your business, buying a home, or starting to think about retirement.
Step 2: Understanding Your Situation
After hearing your goals, we look together at a few important points: whether your family could keep going if your income stopped, whether you already have any insurance (including through your job), and whether what you have today is enough for the people who depend on you.
Step 3: Showing You the Options
With that picture in mind, I show you the life insurance options that may make sense for your situation and your budget, such as term life or permanent coverage (like an IUL). I explain how each one works, what it covers, what it does not cover, and how much it costs, without complicated terms.
What You Will NOT Find in Our Conversation
So you feel comfortable, it is important to be clear about how I do not work:
- No pressure: You will not be pressured to sign anything. The first conversation is for you to understand your options.
- No jargon: The conversation is in plain language, in Portuguese or English, for people who are not in the industry.
- Respect for your privacy: The information you share is used only to review your situation and is not shared with third parties without your permission.
The Benefits of Taking This Step
Taking 20 minutes to look at your family’s future brings clarity. You better understand how protection works in the U.S. and what you can do to protect your home or your business before something unexpected happens.

And if you still think this is not for you right now, remember: financial planning isn’t just for the wealthy. Small adjustments today help protect the people who depend on you tomorrow, no matter how much you have today.
Your Next Step
Time will pass either way. What makes the difference is not only how much you earn each month, but the decisions you make to protect what you have built.
